Ocean Front Rock Climbing

The most popular climbing area in Acadia National Park. Routes are available for all skill levels. 

Types: Top rope (majority of routes), Trad, Boulder, Ice. Most climbers rappel down & belay from above.

Tree anchors are not allowed here. Use climbing protection and/or steel anchors that the park maintains. These steel anchors can be found near the main entrance to the climbing area.

At the highest tide, the start of the climb may be underwater so pay attention to the tides.

*There are annual trail closures for Peregrine falcons. Check out the National Park Service website for details.
